87 5ktq headlights

I have a 1982 VW Jetta with quad headlights, and the car is just a parts
car. The quad headlights measure about the same as the headlight assemblies
on my 87 5kcstq. The passenger side TQ headlight has water inside it and
the reflector is discolored, so I probably need to change it anyhow. maybe
the Jetta lights would be an improvement, and I already have them.

Has anyone actually done such a switch to quad lights, and did it improve
the lighting, and does it involve changing relays and wiring?

I think I remember reading some posts that mentioned such mods, and I would
like to avoid the days of switching things around and experimenting, if
anyone has already done this.
