Strange starting behavour.

     This morning my quattro started within 1/2 a second or so of turn the 
     key, but normally takes about 4 - 8 seconds to start. Any idea why it 
     normally takes so long ? There appears to be no ryhm / reason as to 
     why it works / doesn't work.
     
     
     Thermotime switch is new.
     Cold start injector works (sprays for about 5 secs).
     You can start the car quicker by applying a little throttle (gas), 
     although it will start without using the throttle.
     Once it's started there's no problem.
     
     I think it sounds like a lose electical connection. Anyone BTDT ?
