Poor Man's ISV

My new/used ISV started sticking last week, but what I have
always found more maddening is the abrupt transitions when
lifting off the accelerator. For a while I ran with the ISV
wires disconnected and noticed no transition jerk, but also
experienced low idle/stalling. So I decided to try something. I
took just the valve half of my old ISV, found a cap that fit just
right over where the electronic side goes, drilled a hole in the
center of this cap and inserted a screw. Voila! An idle speed
control screw. Maybe I'm a little cheap, but I have a bunch of
other things that I'd like to be spending my money on before
replacing this valve.
