Re: exhaust hanger, 5KTQ

I did this a few months back. Pain in the ass. As I recall, the 2 bolts
that hold the bracket to the transmission have to be removed. The lower
one first, then use a lever to spin the bracket up and get access to the
upper bolt.

If you press in a new bushing and want to install this without removing the
trans. from the car, you have to slot the heat shield so that it can be
installed last. Otherwise there is no way to get that bolt out of there.
The bolt that goes through the center rubber bushing and hanger that is.

I recommend that if the bushing is fine, don't mess with this. My rubber
bushing was MISSING, so it was a must do and actually not too difficult to
get the bracket off. It was time consuming though... very time consuming.
I recall moving an open end wrench a couple degrees for a long time to get
those bolts off as access is almost zero!

If you must do this with a good bushing, I think you may have to cut (slot)
the heat shield with a small cutting wheel (Dremel?) and remove it first
before you can pry the big bolt out.

If anyone has a better way, please post it!
