As far as I know, the EPA mandate is for 5 years or 50k miles.
California, I believe, mandates a longer period, up to 70k miles.

This is really a "known" problem on 1992-93 V6s; Audi bought a
bad batch of cats and now some of us are paying for it. (No
bitterness here :-) Talk to any parts counter guy, and you'll
see the driver's-side cats are selling like hot cakes.
