RE: Anyone know Nitto?
Not to rain on anyone's parade but they pale in comparison to other more
performance oriented tires. I have a good friend with the extremes on and he
has been trying to grind them into the dirt so he has an excuse to replace
them. They are a fair medium performance tire but do not expect them to wow
you on the track or aggressive street driving. I drove the car on the track
for a few laps and they are progressive but grip was limited. He has told me
they are fair in the rain.
I do realize the compromise is durability, I just wanted to add my .02.

I have some nittos on my car and they are awesome. I also had some D40/m2's
and the nittos are far better then the d40's. I would say go for them.
P.S. Mine have about 15k on them and there is minimal noticable wear.
Looking for some feedback on the Nitto 405 performance tires. Anyone use
them, interested in good performance, good wear and simply decent wet
weather. Looking at these tires for a 205/50/15 on an 87 4000 Quattro.
Other options were the D40/M2's and the Bridgestone Potenza RE71
