86 5KCSTQ E-brake prollem
Folks,
I have recently replaced a rear caliper (second time) and seem to have
miraculously shortened my e-brake cable. Calipers are identical - both
36mm Girlings. I had replaced the other side a year ago and this one
finally gave up the goast (sticking). Now, the e-brake is holding tight,
other side has slack as per the yoke under the e-brake handle and there is
no more room to loosen this nut (not to mention that it is rusted solid).
The strange thing is that before, the e-brake didn't hold up the caliper.
Both cables are free, jsut seems like one is lots longer than the other.
Are left and right sides interchangeable? If not are there any
distinguishing marks that can tell me if I have the wrong cable on my car
(PO replaced).
I cannot imagine that the caliper is causing this prollem - can YOU, is it
POSSIBLE that the caliper needs to be turned in some?
Thanks for any help,
Confused in GA,
Randy P.
