There are two pieces of metal (sorry, no appropriate English word comes to
my mind) on top of the instrument cluster that prevent it from being
removed. Try to look in the space between the top of the cluster and the
dash and you'll see what I mean. You have to press them down while pulling
the cluster (this is one of the moments when you really wish you had three
hands :-) ).
