Not sure, but my guess is your vac. lines are not hooked up or are leaking
(I think that car has vacuum lines that control the vents).  Check those
out.  The other thing is that the ducting is not connected under there. 
Check that out.  

Anyone else have a more knowledgeable response?

While running my A/C, cold air only blows out of the center vents, but
extremely hot air blows out of the side vents.  Any suggestions as to a
fix for this problem?
