Turbo owners: cooling question

How often should the electric coolant pump on an 86 5k come on? Also, the
injector fan?
Niether seem to operate. Should either one come on when the rad. fan comes
on?
Both motors work; I can make the inj. fan come on by grounding the single
pole sensor.
The coolant pump will run by jumping the wires at the relay (removed of
course)but it won't come on when I connect the poles of the thermo switch.

Does this sound like a bad inj. fan sensor and a bad coolant pump relay?
Or does the car just need to be hotter? Right now I can only run the car at
idle.
