The German car manufacturer Audi, a part of the Volkswagen concern, is
probably going to buy Cosworth, a part of Vickers. Audi is willing to pay
120 million for Cosworth. It now depends on the sale of Rolls-Royce, also a
part of Vickers, to Volkswagen. If the shareholders of Vickers agree with
the sale of Rolls-Royce to Volkswagen then Audi is going to buy Cosworth.
The shareholders decide next Friday about the sale of Rolls-Royce to
Volkswagen, the management of Vickers already agreed to sell Rolls-Royce.
Volkswagen is willing to pay 430 million ponds for the famous English brand
Rolls-Royce.

Cosworth is supplying engines to Stewart, Tyrrell and Minardi under the
brand name Ford. Audi enters in some sence Formula1 with buying Cosworth.
Earlier this week Audi's motor sports chief said Audi didn't want to enter
Formula1. "At this moment Formula1 is not an option for us. We are
concentrating on the STW series and the development of our sportscar."
