Say, along those lines, my owner's manual says that the engine is coated
with a rust inhibitor and that using detergents to clean the engine can
remove the coating (which is, I assume, some sort of wax).

What do *you* use when hosing down your mill?  What's this stuff the book
talks about, and is there an aftermarket equivalent?
