Free Flow Exhaust and Auto Trans Problems on A4?

I want to install a free flow exhaust system on my 98.5 A4 1.8T FWD Tip,
but I have heard that there might be problems with the Auto/Tip
transmission if this is done. Something about weird shift patterns. I have
tried to search the archives (and on A4org), but can't seem to find any
article on this. Does anyone know if this is true? And if so, what to expect?
