The Most BIZZARE quattro quirk yet!

Well, just when everything seems to be operating normally, along comes
another strange occurrence. What happens is everything is operating
normally and all of a sudden the seat belt warning light comes on and
sometimes flickers briefly. When this occurs the voltage meter starts to
fluctuate. It has always been consistently between 14 to 15 volts, w/
slight variation due to radio, defrost, lights, etc... being used
simultaneously. When the light comes on a few seconds later the power will
almost cut out completely- the car will buck for an instant then return to
normal- the voltage meter immediately goes up to 15.5 or 16 which it has
never done in the past. When this occurs, all electric functions are
briefly interrupted- radio, trip computer, lights etc...
This phenomenon has occurred a few times in the last couple of days.
The car starts fine and the battery is holding a charge. The car operates
completely normally until the seat belt light comes on then the strangeness
occurs then it stops for an undetermined amount of time and the car is fine
again. I don't know what to make of it- possible demonic possession! I
would actually find this scenario plausible with this vehicle. I'm waiting
for the headlights to glow red and the fangs come out of the hood. I just
thought I'd see if someone might have had a similar experience or even know
the cause before I spend a bundle at an auto electric shop. I have to
figure this out before Telluride!
