straightforward & effective. Audi offers a retrofit kit # 357820794
with valve adapters & misc literature. You will also need to change the 
oil to a Pag type (listed in kit). The cars with the rotary style 
compressors work very well-all in the 36' to 40' range on temp, the old 
york compressors are not as efficient but still work. Pressures are not 
much higher-the key is to use 20-25% less 134a than R12 specs call for. 
You must also change the reciever/drier. Initially, it is not much more 
than a repair/refill w/ R12, in the long run it will be much cheaper 
should problems occur again.
