The trip computer on my 1985 VW GTI (much modified) showed an average speed
of almost 100 MPH.  This is impressive considering that all the time at
max. speed (yes MAX as in pedal to the floor but speedo not going up) must
have offset the time spent at 75 before I hit the Indian reservation.

I say foolish because I thought that the highway through the Indian lands
were not patrolled.  Very luckily for me, they weren't that day!
