acceleration hesitation when 100q is cold

Colleagues:

Your help please.

89 100q. 165,000+ on the odo.

New plugs, rotor, cap, plug wires, air and fuel filters.

symptoms: when the engine is cold (first start in the morning, leaving
office at end of the day) on the first few accelartion runs the things
feels like it is being "restrained" somehow. Rev counter clinbs
appropriately but it is just sluggish feeling. After a few miles all is
normal.

Sympotoms existed pre-tune up. Ran some technron through before last oil
change.

Fuel pump is buzzy but sound has not changed in last 6 months or so.
I'm thinking an injector might be going bad, but why then only on the
first few accelerations runs when cold.

Other thought it that fuel pump is taking longer to pressurize. Does a
dying fuel pump have any symptoms other than increasing noiseness? When
the bomb goes bad there are symptoms in terms of the brake light coming on
etc. Are there similar symptoms of a dying fuel pump and is wehat I have
some of them?

THanks.
