Welcome to the four ringed masochist club, Rich! :-)

1. Radiator has tiny leak, guy who sold it to me pointed it out
for me.
At the top, small tube runs from it. I am going to replace it,
saw some
prices at Blau that seemed reasonable. I recall seeing something
about
an 'all' metal radiator. What are the differences? Any
recommendations
on where to purchase?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The OEM is a 2-row crap with plastic end tanks. In a few years
they become brittle and the top nipple snaps off. End tanks are
not supplied in spare parts.

There are two types of all-metal ones.
1. Dutch made (no offence Tom) - worse than the OEM. They have
2-rows and are made out of thin Cu.
2. American made (Modine) - better than the OEM. Have 3 rows vs.
2 in the OEM.
Audi type-44 fitment would be the Modine internal p/n 1R948. Best
price so far -
JCWhitney cat #614C, NEKH5, page 205, p/n 55KE5128Y, $229.95,
less 10% (a sale coupon on the cover of the cat).

How many hours to do?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Never took me more than 20 min.

2. [...]
Steering seems to be a little loose on rough roads, which also
indicative
of wheel bearings??
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Tighten the 13mm adjustment bolt on top of the steering gear.

How many hours to do?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
2 min.

3. No leaks (yet) that I noticed. How do you know when the
steering
rack/pump are going bad?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It's when you start loosing the snake oil at a fast rate.
DO NOT USE DEXTRON for refills!!! Pentosin 7.1 only! (green)

Steering seems a little heavy, but not bad,
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
That's why we love them type-44's so dearly :-). You should try
mine with
the 325mm steering wheel!

steering wheel seems to be a little off center.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Pop the horn button. Undo the 24mm nut and reposition the wheel
on the splines.
5 min tops.

4. Emergency Brake - Sellers said it was loose, I thing I see a
broken
cable next to the rear driver calliper. Is this it? Easy fix?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes. They don't seem to last more than 2 years on my car. 22bux
per side.
Take the p/n off the cable, NOT from the fiche. Compare the
lengths on the new one and the old one before installing. Don't
ask me how come I know this. :-)

5. No air. How would I check to see if the compressor is bad,
or if it
just needs a recharge? (I've been following the threads on 134a,
if I do
recharge, will probably convert) How many hours to install new
compressor?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
First check if there is any Freon in the sys.

6. Turn on the heat, does not seem to blow warm air. If I
change from
defrost, to bi-level, I can hear the baffles moving, and it seems
to blow
ok. Is this a bad Heater blower? How many hours to replace?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The flap motor gear, which is made out of plastic, has worn a
bald spot on itself. A replacement motor is ~$75.

7. Turn signal stalk broken. Easy fix? Where can I get one?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
A new turn signal assy is $145. A used one is a lot less.

8. Driver rear/ passenger window switch dead. Easy to replace?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes. Just pop it out and you'll see.

What was the WD-40 thing?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Naaah, that was Stabilant (or DeOxit). I'd still do it the old
fashion way,
open and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser.

2. ECU/WG - looking into TAP's / Superchips. Any
suggestions/others?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Talk to Scott Mockry about a QLCC chip.
