Re: A6 Quattro

Well, I didn't upsize, but I own a '95 A6 and a '90 90Q (roughly
the same size as the A4), and have test-driven a '98 A4.
I think the 90/A4 is quite small, too small for me to be comfortable
in. My wife likes it trememdously, though. I find that two adults in
the front are banging elbows a lot, and Angela is always pushing my
knee out of the way of her shift knob so she can shift.
5 people in the A4 is right out, unless the three in the back are
little kids. Even then it's tight. The 90 has a joke of a trunk, but
a decent back seat (for 2). The A4 in comparison, sacrificed much
of the back seat room for a larger trunk.
My A6 (and the 100Q it replaced) has none of these problems.
5 big adults fit comfortably, with all their luggage in the trunk.
On the other hand, the smaller cars do tend to handle better,
and seem to have more aftermarket goodies like decent shocks
available for them. My 100Q was a virtual orphan. Don't know
about the A6 since it isn't time for new shocks yet.
