You mean it's not there?  And it's blowing junk out at you? Makes sense to 
me. :-)

On the right side of the wiper cowl area, under the hood, and under that 
black, cracked plastic shielf, there is an intake.  There is supposed to 
be a screen over it.

You can replace it with whatever screen you can find, like for a screen 
door.  Whatever method you use to attach it will be fine, I'm sure.

Maybe I'll experiment with putting some car model's engine air filter 
there, now that I think of it.
