Re: torsen naderism

For some people, this is indeed the answer but not for me. Some people are
happy enough buying clothes off the rack; others prefer to have them
custom-made and I prefer to make my own (or the automotive equivalent), as
much for budgetary reasons as for intellectual curiosity. I am (and have
been since I was 8 years old) an inveterate tinkerer with all things
electro-mechanical ... changing things to better serve my particular
(peculiar?) tastes and preferences is second nature to me.

Then you would be wrong ... I want it ALL! I want the good things the
Torsen is capable of providing (and they are real) without any of its
associated drawbacks. I haven't yet figured out how to accomplish this --
hence the reason I began this thread months ago -- but I'm definitely still
working on it. It's amazing how people simply assume that I am anti-Torsen
because I'm willing to recongize and acknowledge its failings. The truth is
that I'm NOT anti-Torsen, I'm not just happy with its shortcomings. I love
my dog but I won't put up with her pissing on my carpeting for long before I
try to change things ... will I put up with it in the long run if I
absolutely have no alternative? Sure ... the same is true of my Audis as
well. They're not perfect and if I can't change things that bother me, I'll
learn to live with them ... eventually.

I'm working on it, believe me... :^)
