Phil - I agree w/Scott. And it is not the two-pin above the coolant hose.
The sensor was phased in on late 1990's (it is not incorporated in my early
'90 200tqw, for example). I also get the error code. You can find the
empty connector for the sensor by looking down low in the engine
compartment, on the driver's side (USA), towards the firewall. It's a
two-pin connector that is just hanging out of the harness (I can get you
the color codes if you want; it's too dark out now!) I found this by
following the electrical diagram in the Bentley. So don't worry about
