Dave, and all:
  I must add my data points to this topic...I have never had a Die Hard die. 
I've put them in everything from my BMW 2002's, Alfas, VWs, and now my Audi and 
Porsche 911. Also believe me I stress the hell out of them. I have a place in 
Fraser Colorado (i.e. Winter Park) the place that use to be know as the "ice box 
of the nation". Try starting  any of the above at -25 degrees. 
  I submit that there was something amiss in the 4ks charging system.
