RE: Body work in NH
I should have given the reason why not Bryne's. My mother has back
problems and can't stay in the car very long so she doesn't want to drive
to Dover. That is the only reason. One of my closest friends works there,
I know Dave Menapase(Porsche/Audi sales manager) personally. As a matter
of fact they are providing some sponsorship for the 4KQ that my partner
(the one that works there) and I are setting up to run in divisional
rally's. I do not want to give anybody the opinion that I have anything
against Byrne's as a matter of fact I recommend them to anyone who asks.
Its just that Mom doesn't want to listen, so she wants a bodyshop that is
local.

Tim -
Why not Byrnes ? I've had the opportunity on several occasions to hang
around and poke around their shop and to speak with their body tech's. The
size of the shop belies the talents of the two brothers that work it and
the
facilities that the shop contains. The paint booth is a modern down draft
unit with built in forced drying. The paint work is fabulous. They're using
a european paint system made by Spies-Hecker I believe. They have their own
chassis straightening system on-sight. Don't discount the fact that they
have factory trained techs doing the mech repair on the damaged
suspensions,
drivelines, electrical, etc. I for one, would not want to have a body man
doing that sort of specialized mechanical/electrical work on my Q. Also
don't forget that these guys have done a bunch of these cars in just the
past month. They've got the correct tools, fasteners, connectors, sealants,
fluids, procedures, and tons of time on Audis. Go check'em out; I think
you'll find them to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable with our cars.
I, personally would'nt hesitate to drive the hour it takes to get there
from
here to have these guys do my 200 20vTQ.
usual disclaimers about affiliation apply.
