Re: Re: Lambda Testing by SM

Scott:
Thanks a bunch for your thoughts. Great things to think about regarding this
"EGT" phenomenon. I will expand my research on this some also with the boys
on the Talon List. More than a few on that list have addressed this issue as
well.

Todd's thoughts regarding rich throttle would certainly correlate to the
thinking that more rich doesn't product "more" power necessarily.

Still, I would like to discuss with both you and Orin the idea of adapting a
wide range O2 for the audi cars. My own understanding of Lambda would lead me
to believe that the answers are here rather than in EGT. Further, I would
almost accept the "idea" of EGT, *IF* the wide range O2 was part of the
"revolutionary" audi propoganda machine. Right now, I think you are right
that it's a bandaid for commitment to the fixed DC lambda in the audi
computers.

Since I'm spending a bit more time with Graydon (than either he or his wife
were probably hoping:), I will also discuss this more with Mr. EFI. As you
can probably tell, I find the concept of Lambda to a combustion motor to be
one of the most significant automotive advances of our time.

Appreciate your sharing here Scott. More will hopefully forllow this nerdy
discussion
