car covers & oil light

Has anyone bought, used, researched car covers and sources for same? I am
contemplating buying one to use on the non-daily driver to keep it clean. I am
primarily interested in dust prevention while in the garage, and sun sheild on
those days I do drive it to work. (FWIW, It's not an Audi)  
I have still not remedied the oil light and buzzer problem on my 85 CGT above
2000 rpm. It is very intermittant, and therefore hard to determine if
corrected. It acted up again several days ago after about one month absence.
Any advice would be _greatly_ appreciated.  TIA
