The oil changes were regular @3000 miles, I just wasn't worried that it was
3001 or 3100.

Also I didn't know that unlike the software industry, all the best Chem
Engineers stay working for the big companies where all their ideas are
sucked up and spit out instead of the engineers striking out on their
own...

The oil manufacturers do...Castrol makes Syntex, and claim the same kind of
no oil in the engine performance that the additives do.
