Subject: 4kq AC low press. switch

My A/C decided to suddenly call it quits. Talk about bad timing. It's about
101 degrees here in Dallas. It was fine on Friday, then this morning no cold
air at all. The compressor wasn't engaging so I checked all the electrical
controls and everything is working right, so the only possible causes are
either a failed low-pressure switch or that the system actually lost all the
freon while parked over the weekend.

Now here's the question: does anybody know where this switch is? Bentley says
that both low and high press. switches are 'around' the dryer, but there is
only one high-pressure switch there. I searched all over the engine bay and
couldn't find it so I'm asking the collective wisdom of the list where it is
before I begin to dismantle the dash and all that. Any other things I should
check?

The low pressure switch is behind the glove box. Try jumping it to see if the
compressor engages.
