Re: 5 cyl. lumpy idle



I had a similar expereince to yours, and it turned out that the vaccuum
system had a small leak (the noise).  Maybe you opened up an old hose with
the simple green/ hose spray?  On finding and replacing the part, mine went
back it a nice idle.  I've read about the horror stories of finding these
leaks, but I found the job to be easy if you're willing to get dirty.  Just
start on one hose and massage it with the engine running.  Listen for a
change in the noise.  When it changes, you're close.
