FW #2: Kumho V700

If you are not interested in track tires hit delete now...

I just spoke with Mike Taylor the national distributor for Kumho. There
are no 205/50/15 tires available in the country right now. He has a truck
coming in early next week with 50 in that size, but he thinks they are all
already spoken for. One week after that, there are 150 tires coming in.

The demand has been very high for this tire. If the porsche racing list is
any indication of what's happening out there on the club race circuit, this
is THE tire to have right now.

I confirmed the unit price for the 205/50/15 is $120 shaved (3/32") or
unshaved (6/32") and delivered. That $120 includes shipping. Washington
State people can purchase their tires from Puget Sound Tire (Jeff Harvey)
at (206) 272-1167. Californians at Hi Tech. Tire in N. Hollywood (Shawn)
no number available, sorry. There is no Oregon dealer. Of course, anyone
can order the tires directly from Mike at (1-888-775-8646).

When asked about a Kumho rain tire, Mike said to use the unshaved tire, and
that it was excellent in the rain.

I hope this is of interest. I have no financial interest in this but do
have a major fun quotient interest if this turn out to be a good tire for
me. ;)

BTW, the other tire I am considering is a P7000 Pirelli in the 215/40/16
size (thanks, Gary for complicating life). I thought I wanted Yoko A032R's
but the P-list has been questioning/slamming those lately.
