re: rear suspension on 89 200t
i've never been *behind* a 200 (no insult intended ;-]), but given my
many strut replacements on my vw racecar and 4kq, i'd throw your strut
over your shoulder and run down to the local sunoco and have the
junior-high dropout (no offense - i worked at such a location as a young
buck) wiz it off with an air-driven impact wrench -- should come right
off. This is, of course, if it doesn't need a spring compressor. My
4kq didn't need one for the rears. Check da manual, etc. If it does,
compress it, and continue as above.
You'll find it easiest if you air-wrench the sucker back together, too.
