The Monkey Lad strikes again
Hi Y'all,
Perhaps this particular monkey lad should be called King Kong Lad. The
last oil change I had done on my S6 was done at a local Jiffy-Lube type
place. I supplied the oil and filter. I was forbidden to enter the work
area. This was, of course, *after* the oil had already been drained. All
appeared to go well - no oil leaks.
Today was time for the next change in preparation for Audifest98. I took
the car to my regular service station instead of back to the other place -
I wanted to see what was being done. The oil drain plug was so tight that
we were unable to remove it at all. The car goes in to the dealership
Monday morning for an oil and filter change and a new oil drain plug. I
hope they can get the old one out without destroying anything else - like
the pan.
About all I can figure is that King Kong must have used an air impact
wrench to tighten the drain plug. I guess it's time for me to do my own
oil/filter changes.
Any BTDTs on removal of a recalcitrant oil plug?
