CGT dead battery <and> locking lug bolts (good ones)

My Coupe's battery died today when I was buying some jack
stands. I had been hearing a slight belt slippage upon
start up lately, and was(am) going to fix it.

The voltmeter was reading just under 12 volts with the
a/c, radio, radar detector, and radiator fan on. I didn't
think much of it due to the way the voltmeter responds to
my turning the radio on (like the power is being pulled
from the same place as the meter is hooked up to.

I guess the after run fan prolly killed it.

I am going to modify my alternator to use the Motorcraft
regulator, as detailed on this webpage:

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

If I had my druthers (what exactly does that mean?), I'd
get an Optima battery and mount it in the trunk too.

BTW, I'm going to call this shop on Monday to get a price on
a complete set of 20 (twenty) Gorilla locking wheel bolts for
my car. It may require a bulk purchase. Is anyone else
interested? I had a set of 25 lug locks from them on a Toyota
truck, and they were fantastic. Way better IMO than the types
that take a key directly in the face of the lock. These have
keys that slip over the entire lock, and the complete sets replace
all the lug bolts.

Later,

Ken
