Turns out I didn't break the distributor connection after all, at least not
yesterday.  I wrapped some electrical tape around the base of the distributor
and secured the sensor.  When I drove it, not only did it operate perfectly,
but an annoying hesitation at about 2800 rpm that I've been experiencing
recently disappeared.

Apparently, this sensor was loose to begin with.  Now I can wait for my
AudiBank to become replenished!
