Re: whatta weekend
Whatta Weekend!
After 4 years of drooling over Quattros -- I finally make it to Mt.
Washington Saturday to feast my eyes upon the most beautiful machine ever
made -- The Sport Quattro!
Things took a swift downturn, however, when I blew the headgasket it my '82
VW Cabrio!
The Audi Gods must have been extremely angry that I attempted to take the
VW to an Audi event! I was forced to though - since my 5KTQ is in the shop
and my trusty steed -- the 4KQ -- is 'indisposed.'
Questions:
1. Can anyone with literary prowess describe the events on Sunday since I
missed them? My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to get a ride all the
way back to Framingham MA by the AAA driver who was quite friendly. Only 1
issue: try traveling at 30 mph through back country roads with the heat of
a chevy 350 singing your kneecaps while forced to listen to the sounds of
rockin' bands like Dwight Yokem and Clint Black!
2. Has anyone ever done a headgasket on a 1.7 VW engine? The car was
pissing watery oil from the side of the head -- and luckily I think I saved
it by recognizing it quickly. The engine 'coolant' warning light came on
right quick -- and I shut it down fast. However, there wasn't too much
water/coolant in the oil -- so I hope I'm OK.
I really need help here. After my problems with the TQ, this is the icing
on the cake.
The irony of it all is what kills me.
