RE: ur-quattro in a den of subarus

Interesting post Dave.

Couple interesting points you brought to light. First seems to be that your
times would indicate you are doing some pretty radical changes to your
"normal" driving style to get your times down. A similar experience I had
when trying to compete with a torsen center (insert double entendre).

Also kinda interesting that VR4 with it's 65r/35f VC got the fastest time.
Certainly makes you think about the "beautifully driven" part, given your
claims of that device.

Regarding your lifting your hands from the wheel in a turn. That might tell
us more than anything else in this post. I'm really smiling at the thought
of it actually.

Let me be the first from the Steamboat boys, to invite you to do your
experimenting and "hands off" behavior on 150gals of frozen water. Beware,
once the spiders are done with you, there are several vultures there with
tools that can strip an sitting Urq really quickly. Right Steve E? We all
promise to laugh louder than the scooby-doo boys too :)

Dave, a couple thoughts come to mind. Your times would probably be more
consistent if you walked the course before hand. Don't ruin a run having to
'learn the course'. Second, take Jeff and my challenge to drive a 200tq with
the torsen that you admit *can* bite. That way, instead of laughs, you might
be actually too busy to enjoy the chucles while gathering your imperial data.

We really need to even your playing field davey. You should come over to a
Quattro Club event where the scooby doos don't even show up, and a single Vr4
doesn't upset the quattro reign. And more spider potential too.

Interesting post, though the conclusion TO a torsen center conclusion is
certainly stretching logic.

BTW, Dave and Jeff and I have continued the Torsen 'discussion'. Given some
of the responses to Jeff and my attempts at education, probably just as well
the discussion went off line. Thank goodness for Quattro Club Events.
Commiserating q's beats scooby doos on our side of the pond.
