The 1.8 vw rods 8v or 16v are all the same dimensionally as the audi 
rods & will work in that application. I would try to use the 2.0 vw 16v 
or the audi 2.0 8v rods because the are rifled drilled to provide 
pressure the to wrist pins for better lubrication. Make sure to use good 
rod bolts-ARP or Racewares. Be careful of high boost w/ stock rods, the 
small ends are kind of wimpy. Happy engine building.
