    Hi Mark;

    The evaporator and condenser are generally considered unrepairable,
although technically speaking they could be repaired. Physical damage
excluded, when they start leaking in one area, they are generally weak in
several. With the cost of R-12 these days, you don't want to lose too many
charges ( not to mention the damage to the ozone layer).
    Hoses are also usually replaced, but may be repairable depending on the
cause of the leak. There was a thread several weeks ago on the list
discussing hoses - some listers have had them made up at A/C shops for a
fraction of the Audi price. You may be able to find something in the
archives.
