Bear Notch RD - was "4mydog and slow motorcycles"

That was me in the white 4KQ. Interestingly enough that was my first
opportunity to drive the car. My partner and I purchased the car about 6
weeks ago. Spent a couple of long weekends working on it just to get it
legal for the road. Drove it to Mt Washington in order to get a great feel
for it and to talk to Frank Sprongl about having 4 Star install the cage.
(His reaction "Great car to set to rally wouldn't be seen driving on it
the street though')The suspension is worn out so I had a lot of body roll
and irregular weight shifts on Bear Notch. (Interesting note: that road is
not plowed in the winter but it stays open to provide trail access - those
hearty enough to give there Quattros a good run wait until they have a 6-12
inches of snow and then run it!!)(Just make sure you have a c-phone in case
you need a tow). We actually run that as part of a large loop that is great
to check performance and suspension. Another outstanding road that can
bring you up to the Kanc or back down to the NH seacoast is Rt. 153. Head
north on 16 until you see the sign for 153. This first half is straight
flats but the second half is outstanding. Some great off-camber 80 to 90
degree turns. Takes you right into Conway.
I didn't get to hangout with much of you - sorry wanted to meet you guys.
But we spent the majority of the day in the pits doing suspension and cage
research. Got some quotes and a lot opinions on how to set the car up.
(Mike Z can you email me privately). When I pulled the car into the
corral felt like the 4K should have gone to the back pasture but he we are
just starting. You guys (gals) have some gorgeous Audi's - pretty
envious. But the wife 100S wagon is gonna last for at least 300k before we
replace it. Great time - great weather - great company to be with -
Great Cars!
Gonna be stopping over to see Sanborn and the CQ. I will probably be taking
a lot of pictures. If anyone is interested in putting them on a sight let
me know I probably can scan them but I don't have a website to post them.
Andrew I should have you service history tonight - be in Nashua Thursday
and Friday let me know how you want to get it.
Once again great time this Sunday
