Yeah. I've also noticed the brakes require more effort the first application
in wet conditions; it almost feels as if it takes a fraction of a second (or
longer at slow speeds) to scrape a scum of water off the rotor. For all I
know, that might be what is actually happening. It's definitely a turnoff
for a car which otherwise seems to love rain.
After a short, scary stab at the pedal, they work fine. Commuting in traffic
in Seattle, I've done many sudden stops in the wet, and have simply gotten
used to pushing a little harder on the brakes when the road is wet. But that
first few feet might make the difference! So it would please me greatly if
any aftermarket pad fixed this. (Heck, I'd even put up with more brake pad
dust, if such a thing were possible.)
