I'd fathom a guess that the temps are high enough to cause the cooling fan
to come on, but when the A/C runs the fan at stage 1 all the time, coolant
temps are low enough to keep the fan from switching to a higher speed.  If
that makes any sense :)

It's weird; my 5k ran cooler without the A/C.  My 200 runs cooler WITH the
A/C.  I think Audi semi-blew it on the 20v engine concerning thermal stuff;
they had to add a huge-ass auxiliary cooler that runs most of the length of
the opening in the front ground effect.

I'm amazed by the size of the radiator in the 90 Coupe...Ramana's coupe at
Mt. Washington had a _huge_ radiator for that engine...it seemed much
larger than the one in my 200.
