85 5K Power Steering fix?

Yeah, I forgot to mention it, kinda goes without saying.

A buddy of mine went through two pumps in a row, that he bought
from a rebuiding source. His conclusion - the rebuilt pumps are
$hit.

-"Did you prime the pump before putting the belt on?"
-"What's that?"

His third pump, rebuilt_and_primed by me, works well.
