CHECKING STEERING RACK & CV JOINT BOOTS

When I was crawling under the 993 recently, I happened to notice that
one of the rubber dust bellows/boots was cracked.  This is on a car
with 30,000 miles.  I also happened to remember that I suffered a similar
fate on my old '84 Carrera, and I had a CV joint boot go about a year ago
on the Audi.

Probably wouldn't hurt for owners to check them the next time the car is 
up in the air - steering racks & CV joints are expensive; don't need them 
dying prematurely!
