Audi service: Oh no, its that blond woman with the A6 again!

Well guys I have a question for you (again). Seems that it is almost time for
Baby's 37,500 oil change. Seems that I've gone almost 6K miles since I bought
the car. I can't seem to help myself. I always volunteer to drive these days :
)
I thought as long as we have to visit service I might as well annoy them
alittle more and have them check something else.

For the last 7 years been driving a 5 speed exclusively. When I bought this
car (being typically female) color was more important than the transmision
(what was I thinking?) So rather than search the ends of the earth for a 5
speed in pearl, I bought a slushbox (learned that word right here folks!!) So
I feel somewhat unfamiliar with an automatic transmission and I thought I'd
check this out with you guys before I brought the car in. Here's what I'm
noticing: From a standstill, when the car goes through the gears, its kinda
rough as it moves from second to third. The rpms rev up to 3k at that point
too. When it changes from first to second and third to fourth its fairly
smooth. If I happen to be driving along and have to slow down as I approach a
red light, if I coast down to 20 mph, the car seems to hesitate before
accelerating when I feed gas again, particularly as it passes 30 mph. With a 5
speed I would downshift at this point. To me it seems like the transmission
has trouble getting going again while its rolling and when it finally reaches
30ish mph again and gets back into third, I feel it lurch foward. Is this
normal? And if not, what should I ask them to check?

Also, sometimes I notice that for no reason, (not necessarily at 3rd gear) the
gas pedal has this dead feel to it as I am accelerating and then it sort of
goes whoom and picks up speed when it feels like it. In general the car seems
to have sluggish pickup from 0 to say 50ish, but after that it will just fly.
Today, I found myself doing 80 on the highway, effortlessly...I have to watch
that. Once I'm motoring, I can pass anybody with ease.

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.
