Wrong dilemma.... it's not do things right, versus do things a
different way... it's do things today versus do things tomorrow.

There aren't many QListers who have put more miles on more different kinds of
Audis than I have. And I've driven dry CV joints until they cracked and broke.
No big deal. When they click going around corners, procrastination might wish
to give way to prudence. But since it is as difficult to pull the CV joint to
replace the boot and the grease as it is to replace the entire joint, then the
labor cost to grease and therefore save a CV joint is the same as the labor
cost to replace a CV joint.
I would maintain that the logic of my argument is the same logic as that
espoused by another lister who recently said that if you're going to
have to replace the rear main seal, then because of the labor costs involved,
you might as well replace the clutch while you're at it.
Sometimes I wish I had the clearly *deep* pockets that many QListers have.
But with greater income comes greater responsibility in spending it, and
I have all the responsibility I can bear.
I should point out that I have owned and driven _nothing but_ used Audis
since 1979. Most of you have spent at least an hour or two in some other
kind of car. *And* probably owned new cars. Not me. And while I look to all of
you for experience on things from turbos to bombs which have _not_ been part of
the Audi experience from the beginning to the present, when it comes to RZEPPA
joints (how many of you knew that was what they are realy called?) I'll
put my knowledge and experience on the line with that of any other listers.
Judgement, that's another thing. Call me looney. Call me nuts. Just call
me.... no, wait, please *don't* call me...
I drive 'em. I break em. No Big Deal, and not worthy of CAPITAL LETTERS
or EXCLAIMATION MARKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
