Formula Palmer Audi

Hi all,

Just watched the recording of this afternoon's BBC Top Gear Motorsport with
the report of the first round of the new Formula Palmer Audi Championship.
Created by Jonathan Palmer as a rival to Formula 3, this one looks set to
be a winner. The cars, all equipped with the 20v 1.8T putting out 250 bhp,
are designed so as not to rely on aerodynamics too much, instead putting
the emphasis on the driver's skill. Much spectacular driving in the first
two rounds, with lots of cars crashing and a lot of passing. All in all, a
lot better to look at than the old F3 or Formula Ford championships.

Next race will see the introduction of the 'boost button', enabling the
driver to boost his power output to 275 bhp for three short bursts during
each race, for even more spectacular passing.

A good idea, and very positive to be associated with. A good move from Audi.
