steel plugs in aluminum
ken sez;
Personally, my fill plug is way beyond this solution. I'm now in
tranny
dropping, drilling, and EZ-Outing territory. :-(
before getting into this major repair...have you considered drilling a small
hole...say 7/32's tapping it and putting in a zerk fitting? then the few
times in your tranny's life that you may want to add or to replace the oil,
it can be accomplished with filling a standard grease gun with your oil of
choice and pumping it a few hundred strokes. as long as you know the
capacity and can drain it you can refill the gun until the tranny and centre
diff have the correct volume according to the manual.
