Back home again in West Virginia
Hi Y'all,
The subject line should be sung to the more familiar Indiana song.
Despite all the missing friends and despite another breakdown (not me this
time) in the parking lot at Arby's in Hays, KS, we had a great trip. Last
year my turbo coolant inlet hose burst. This year, Gary's outlet hose
broke. No kidding. I don't think I want to stop at the Hays Arby's next
year.
The convoy out was IMO the highlight of the trip. Have you ever cruised at
triple digit speeds (on occasion, *well* into triple digits) with seven
other Audis who were all in communication with each other via CB radios?
Let's just say it was fun. :-) It's hard to imagine exceeding a posted
speed limit by 60 mph - especially when the posted limit is 75. OK, before
the PC police attack, this was on open and empty roads. No one, other than
possibly one of our convoy, was endangered in any way.
Ten hours from Colorado Springs to KC (650 miles with co-drivers). Twelve
1/2 hours KC to home (862 miles solo).
More later.
