I think the days of flashing lights or waving, let alone stopping to BS are
long gone. And if you look at it, I think they stopped when there were no
more British Sports Cars (MG, Triumph, and the OLD Lotus - Elan, Elite,
Europa). The beginning of the death of comradrie could probably be blamed
on the Japanese Import invasion. Cause once folks started to by the
240Z(+), they no longer had a car that fell apart, or had to look all over
hell to find parts. It was a "Cadillac" of sports cars, you could just jump
in and turn the key, hell, it even had AC!!!!!!

And to see at what lengths the Japanese went to COPY the English Sports
Cars, just look at the Miata. It looks like a Lotus Elan, but doesn't fall
apart like one. But the REAL kicker is that they went around and tape
recorded various exhaust sounds of sports cars, and BUILT their muffler to
simulate the sound! The actual sound of a stock Miata exhaust is faked! And
trust me, Paul Rivera can back me up on this, it can be made to sound like
anything you want!
