Steering racks on 100/5K

Are there any differences between a steering rack for a 1983 Audi 100 2144cc
and a 1989 Audi 100 2226cc.  They look identical, but the ZF part number is
different in the last three digits.

The reason I am asking is that my 1989 Avant is leaking PS fluid from the
gaiter on the PS rack (is it easy to recondition these?) and I have an old
1983 Avant that I am in the process of dismantling which has a perfect
steering rack in it.
